Jordan V. Sutton, J.D., LL.M., MBA
Jordan earned her Juris Doctorate (J.D.) and Master of Laws (LL.M.) in Taxation from Western Michigan University Cooley Law School. She is a graduate of Centre College, a top-50 liberal arts college and has a Bachelor of Science in Economics. She also obtained a Master of Business Administration (MBA) from the University of Kentucky with a focus on finance. Jordan is a member of the State Bar of Michigan and is licensed in securities, holding a Series 7 and 66. She joined the Sutton Advisors team in July 2004.
Jordan knows that having a broad spectrum of expertise empowers her to assist clients in building multifaceted plans that prevent problems before they arise. In seeking continued knowledge and understanding, she embodies the Sutton Advisors’ core value of learning. In August 2011 Jordan introduced the book Being in Business is a Funny Thing – Getting Out is Not, the book is a multi-author project with the subtitle The Business Ownerʼs Guide to Growing & Transitioning a Business.
Jordan is passionate about her community service work. In 2016 she was appointed to the State Bar of Michigan Public Outreach and Education Committee and in 2020 she was elected to the WMU-Cooley Law School Board of Directors. Jordan is currently a member of the Michigan State University Eli and Edythe Broad Art Museum Board, an active member of the Rotary Club of Lansing, and the Michigan State University Child Development Lab Parent Council. Jordan previously served on boards for the Boys and Girls Club of Lansing, Kresge Art Museum and Mid-Michigan Planned Giving Council.
