Padma Raj, J.D., LL.M.
Padma, a Michigan native, received her Bachelor of Science (BS) in Psychology from Michigan State University. She earned her Juris Doctor (J.D.) cum laude and Master of Laws (LL.M.) in Taxation from Western Michigan University Cooley Law School and is a member of the State Bar of Michigan.
Padma thrives on expanding her knowledge and skills. Guided by her strong work ethic, she provides her clients with exceptional customer service and legal expertise within a social service context. She embodies the Sutton Advisors’ core values of learning and quality.
Padma joined Sutton Advisors in January of 2019. Her past legal experience includes the Michigan Tax Tribunal, where she drafted opinions and orders on tax law and the Temperance Legal Group where she specialized in Title IX claims. She also served on the Committee to Elect Cynthia Ward for Judge. In this role, she ensured campaign compliance and adherence and assisted in creating outreach programs. Additionally, Padma has served as an AmeriCorps member for Big Brothers Big Sisters.
Padma currently holds membership in the Probate and Estate Planning Section of the State Bar of Michigan, and the Women Lawyers Association of Michigan. She is currently enrolled in the Probate and Estate Planning Certificate Program through the Institute of Continuing Legal Education (ICLE).
